Base Identification
A common question the leaders are asked: how should I attack the base? What you don't want to do is just pick a strategy that you like. This article will show how to break down a base, identifying its weaknesses, and then using a custom attack strategy that can exploit those weaknesses. They key is to learn multiple attack strategies, and starting to create your own - sticking to a single one is tempting, but won't help in the long run.
Step 1 - Knowing the basic strategies for each TH
It's suggested to know the basic strategies for each TH, and practice them till execution is near perfect. Obviously, one could deviate from the standard strategies, but an arsenal of standard attacks gives you a solid starting point.
Note: Many of the sub-strategies listed have their own guides in the next few pages of website. It's imperative to master them before combining them into more effective war strategies.

TH7:
- Dragloon
- Mass Hogs
- Laloon w/ QW (Laloon + Queen Walk)
- Gobolaloon (Killsquad + Laloon)
- Gobaho (Killsquad + Mass Hogs)
- Witch Slap (unique strategy, but involves Killsquad)
Step 2 - Identifying Strengths, Weaknesses and Objectives
The top players may stare at a base for an hour just to find the right strategy (not even planning the attack)! That is a bit extreme, but nevertheless, base analysis is crucial. You want to make a checklist of its strengths and weaknesses, and start brainstorming ideas. I have provided two thought processes below:

This is the mentality you should have when analyzing a base. In summary, here are a few things to consider:
- King (for ground attacks) and Queen locations
- Decentralized vs. Centralized
- The extent which cc can be lured
- TH/Defense Level
- Air defense formation (all one one side vs. spread out vs. compact)
- Wide spread base vs. Compact base
